Man vs Mountain challenge
In September David, Ian, James and Duncan were part of a team that participated in the Man vs Mountain challenge; a 22 mile mountain adventure race which started at sea level at Caernarfon Castle before weaving its way to the summit of Mount Snowdon and down the other side to tackle a number of obstacles including a further 250m ascent over 1km as well as numerous water obstacles and 8ft walls to climb over before the finish line.
It was a grueling challenge which all the team members completed within times of between 5h 30m and 6h 55m. In addition the team raised over £5,000 for two very worthy charities; the neonatal unit at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow and Brainwave, a charity which helps children with disabilities and additional needs to achieve greater independence.
Well done to all the team for completing the race and a massive thank you to the many sponsors who helped the team raise such a fantastic amount; this will make a real difference for the charities concerned.
